Each Saturday night, weather willing, at the Marble Quarry: 5:30-6:30: Hamburger BQQ, Front Deck (Buy tickets at check-in) 7:00-8:00: Ice Cream Social, Front Deck (Bargains!) 8:15-?: Marshmallow Roast at the Fire Circle (Free)

Ranger Guided Hike - Natural Bridges -209-536-9543
The Flora of Natural Bridges - Ranger-Led Hike 9:00 am Natural Bridges Trail Hike along with Ranger Hilary to discover the diverse plant communities along the Natural Bridges Trail. Learn how to identify the communities and flora of Natural Bridges. Meet at the Natural Bridges Trailhead on Parrots Ferry Road. Bring water, sunscreen and hiking shoes. This is a moderate to strenuous, 1 mile, downhill hike. Participants may return uphill on their own. There are no dogs allowed on the trail to Natural Bridges.

California became the 31st state in 1850, the same year gold was discovered in Columbia. The announcement of statehood is reenacted & a history demonstration is performed. Admission is FREE!

There will a parade sponsored by the Native Sons of the Golden West. This parade has been a regular event in Sacramento for many years. Beginning this year, it will move to Columbia, where the Columbia Parlor NSGW #258 is one of the oldest in the State. You may watch or you may enter. The attachment gives the form you can use to enroll as a participant.

Glory Hole Sports has put together a great line-up of free seminars on fishing for 2009. The seminars will be held at Glory Hole at 3:00 pm on select Sundays. The public is invited to a special event in Back to School Night, 1861, at the Old Columbia Schoolhouse in Columbia State Historic Park. Visitors will enjoy live music, schoolyard games, and classroom sessions led by costumed interpreters inside the old brick schoolhouse on the hill. The upstairs of the building will be open for visitors who wish to climb the old spiral staircase, and even ring the old schoolhouse bell.

Located in Jamestown, California, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park is home to one of America's last authentic, operating railroad roundhouses. Known as "The Movie Railroad," Railtown's locomotives and cars have appeared in over 200 film and TV productions, including High Noon, Back to the Future III, and Petticoat Junction.

Don't miss the Fifth Annual Wine & Cheese Benefit at Railtown 1897, benefiting improvements related to this State Historic Park. Highlights of this late afternoon/early evening event include tasting of delicious California cheeses and fine wines from such wineries as Bodega Del Sur, Brice Station, French Hill, Gianelli, Ironstone Vineyards Winery, Laraine Wines, Muir Legacy, Tom Bender--O'Brien's Market Wine Bar and Zucca Mountain Vineyards.
