Oct 3rd & 4th: Fiddle and Bango Contest, Chili Cook-off, Columbia Singers, Songwriters & musicians perform for the chance of winning prizes. There will also be a chili contest and you be the judges. So bring your appetite and your chair and have a wonderful day. For more info. call 209-536-1672


Oct 3rd: Concert in the Cave with Mary Youngblood,

Moaning Cavern Park- 866.762.2837 We hope you can join us for Mary Youngblood's 3rd annual Concert in the Cave, playing a variety of Native American flutes in Moaning Cavern's beautiful main chamber. Youngblood's haunting music has earned her the Native American Music Awards' Best Female Artist award. She will be joined by the Northern California Flute Circle for a rich, full-bodied sound enhanced by the spectacular natural acoustics of Moaning Cavern. This is a unique experience not to be missed. To attend this concert, dress in jeans, t-shirt or sweatshirt and tennis shoes. Bring a pillow to sit on (the floor is cold and hard) and a percussion instrument if desired. Please bear in mind that, as a living cave, Moaning Cavern does drip water occasionally. We call these droplets "cave kisses."

Oct 18th: Heritage Days, Jamestown

Jamestown Heritage Days will be celebrated Sunday, October 18, 2009 with everyone invited. Festivities will begin at noon in Rocca Park on Main Street with Columbia Foot Dragoons firing of the anvil, B.B.Q lunch, and the arrival of the Historic Sonora Pass Wagon Train. "Mark Twain," Foothill Cloggers, Fiddle Gang, and Dave Rainwater will provide entertainment. Gold panning demonstrations, book signing by local authors, carriage rides, and train rides at Railtown State Park are some activities available. Admission is free and dressing in period clothing is encouraged but not required. Heritage Days is sponsored by the Promotion Club of Jamestown.
