May 2009

Hello Friends of Marble Quarry RV Park. Folks are enjoying our old fashioned jumbo hamburger BBQ (beginning at 5:30 PM), followed by the Ice Cream Social at 7:00. This will be each Saturday evening, followed by a campfire program, weather willing. Meet and greet old friends and/or make new friends.

Young people are enjoying our new game room, too. Bring your bicycles and safety helmets!

Due to popular request, we are starting a photo contest. Send us photos of activities either here at the park, or in the area. Send digital photos electronically to: Ralph Squire

All who contribute will be given a certificate for a 10% discount on items in our gift shop.  If photos are used on our website, the certificate will be good for a 30% discount in our gift shop.

Mother's Day is May 10th. Bring mother camping! All mothers will be offered a 10% discount in our gift shop. That weekend is the Mother Lode Roundup in Sonora. One of the largest parades in California will go down the main street on Saturday the 9th, with a live rodeo on both Saturday and Sunday. Wild West theme!

The weekend of May 30-31 is the annual 'Tent Town' event in Columbia. Created by docents, they re-enact what life was like during Columbia's 'hey day' of gold mining. This is located just East of the main parking lot. Plan ahead: June 20, 21: 43rd Annual Father's Day Fly In at the Columbia airport. Airplane rides, classic airplanes, and other events all day. www.columbiagazette.com/flyin.html
