April 2009
Hello Friends of Marble Quarry RV Park. We have successfully gotten past April Fools Day. Did you get tricked?
Now, Spring is really here. Many of you enjoyed our magical atmosphere during the end of March. April should be a great time to stay at the Marble Quarry.
Our new game room is up and operating. Last weekend, many youngsters enjoyed our video games. The new play yard equipment is being climbed upon. The swings are swingers.
The revamped swimming pool will be open as soon as the County Health Department makes it's annual inspection and certification. Shuffleboard, horseshoes, volley ball and tether ball are ready and waiting. A basket ball court is in the planning stage.
A BBQ, an Ice Cream Social and a Camp Fire Program will begin on Saturday, April 18th, and each Saturday thereafter, weather willing.
The BBQ (at 6:00 PM) and Ice Cream Social (at 7:00 PM) will be related events in front of the office, with tickets for each sold in the office. Enjoy an old fashioned jumbo burger or a super duper hot dog, w/chips and drink, and have ice cream for dessert. Let us cook for you!
The Camp Fire Program will begin at 8:15 PM, at the nearby Fire Circle, which has been remodeled with additional seating and lighting.
Meet and greet old friends and/or make new friends.
There will be a wine tasting event in Columbia on Sunday afternoon, April 19th, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.

In order to allow you to particpate, we will extend check out time from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, for this one time, if you ask nicely.
We have purchased several portable Fireplace/BBQs for your usage, and will be making more portable fire pits, too. Myke and his crew have built a new large portable BBQ for group use.
We continue to add photos to our website, showing the various opportunities for enjoyment here at the Marble Quarry: www.marblequarry.com/gold.htm - Watch the faces of the 4th grade class as they see the gold panned by Myke. You too can feel this fascination on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM, or in a group by appointment.
www.marblequarry.com/campers.htm - Watch how easy it is to have tents and RVs in the same site together, and pay for only one site (only the extra person fees), or rent a group of sites for a tenting group.
Remember parents and grandparents, members of the Marble Quarry Club pay for only the first two kids in an immediate family, and the rest are on us. You can bring the neighbors kids along, but you will need to pay for them.
Speaking of the Marble Quarry Club, our guests are snapping up the free membership cards, and think it is the best thing since sliced bread. Pay for 10 nites during any 12 month period and get two more nites free. Several have already qualified.
So, you want more reasons to visit our friendly park? See below:
If you are retired and on a fixed income, consider our midweek rates. The
park is probably not as crowded either. Fortunately, the price of fuel is down - so what's keeping you. Come on up!
We are at the 2,200' elevation, in a mixture of oaks and pines, with a scenic
trail connecting to historic Columbia. Plan ahead for Mother's Day, Sunday, May 10th. The weekend is the Mother
Lode Roundup in Sonora - with a huge parade and a rodeo. Bring mother camping,
and treat her to the BBQ and Ice Cream Social. Dads, why not cook breakfast
for mom. After all, it's her special day. The friendly staff at Marble Quarry, John Dahlen, Joan Soma, Connie Little, Myke Little, Joe
Storey, Vince Schatz, Haroldine Peterson and Ralph Squire
